TAPAS

In Spain, appart from the bulls, flamenco singers and dancer, the sun, the paella and Almodóvar (Jejeje) we also have something very, very, very tipycal called TAPAS.

The official dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy of Languages says that a TAPA is a small portion of food served with a drink. However this is not completely true you can have a complete dinner eating only these small and delicious bits.
In the north of Spain they have even contests where the most famous cookers take part.

But just before the Easter holidays we celebrated a Spanish tapas night at my place, just to bring to my friends a piece of my culture. As Estelle says…. Yami!

We prepared:

1.- Prawn cocktail
2.- Garlic prawns
3.- Garlic mushrooms
4.- Tomato bread with Spanish ham
5.- Brave potatoes
6. Wine Chorizos (spicy dry pork sausage)

Of course, we took all this different food with bread and Wine.
I really invite you to taste it. The basic one as the brave potatoes is very simple to make and the result generally is fantastic.
For this reason, in the link below you can find some recipes of tapas that for sure are going to cause a sensation among your friends.

Hip Hop from the Bronx

During few weeks I was attending to Dance classes, hip hop ones to be more concrete. But unfortunately the last time i went I was kindly invited to not to come back again in this timetable. They suggested us that maybe it was better to go to the beginner level on Mondays, but..... Oh porca miseria on Mondays I have lessons and it was to difficult to go.

So now, I need to see into another direction, proven that my short career into the dance is over. I've tried to run, but I find it boring, the bike..... ok I'm biking too much so the only option felt is swimming.

The only disadvantage of this sport is the fight against the old people that every time you must have to win your space into de pool to can swim. If we think it carefully for a while we can get easily the conclusion that they're not there to swim, but to open its social nets.

Now the video I took to Estelle in our last hip hop class.

Ahhh one more intersting data the man with the green cup is the teacher.

The Markets of Gent

As I told you before if you have visit Gent, you can't miss to visit the Cathedral, Gravensteen and so on, but neither the markets. So here I show you a small sample about them.

This is the vegetables market

The birds market

The second hand market

Sundays under Sun

Afer two months in Belgium, it seems that the rain has given us a truce.
During the Easter Holidays the sun was shining almost everyday, and you cab believe me when I say that THIS thing rarely occurs so often. That’s why I was just remembering, how wonderful that first whole shiny weekend here in Gent was.

It was Sunday the 11th March and Estelle and me went to the street markets. I was so exited about this idea that I woke up two or three times before than my clock alarms rang. I was going to be able to do something I always do in Spain. Just, to walk among the different stands and enjoy the colours, the smelt, the flavour of a place like that.
I was surprised to discover those nice places, in front of St, Michels Church there was the fresh food market, with the coffee place, the roasted chicken, the backer and so on. At Vrijdajs market you could find all diverse kind of animals. In Kouter the flowers one and In St Jacobs the second hand one. We took lot of picture, and we could buy nice candles and figures with a really convenient price.
In fact in this moment one of those is lighted on my desk. So maybe the best way to describe how is the sun in Gent is to show it directly.
